S&W's philosophy

S&W is a civil trial boutique law firm that provides its clients with creative solutions to their problems in a prompt and efficient manner at a fair and reasonable cost. S&W’s civil litigation practice encompasses a broad range of matters in the practice areas of business, employment, entertainment, intellectual property, real property/construction defects, environmental and appellate advocacy. S&W represents both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts as well as in administrative proceedings, private mediations and arbitration tribunals.

S&W was founded in 1997 by Gerald L. Sauer and Eve H. Wagner, who, along with newly added partner Robert Chapman, were former equity partners of a 90-lawyer Century City law firm. S&W’s lawyers believe in the ethic of hard work and are dedicated to achieving the best results for its clients by providing superb work product in a cost-effective manner. S&W’s lawyers understand that common sense and practical business judgment are essential ingredients in analyzing and responding to their clients’ legal needs.

S&W’s approach to litigation is simple. S&W initially advises its clients of reasonable courses of action and probable outcomes to enable them to make rational decisions as to how to proceed. As circumstances change, S&W updates its advice so that its clients can continue to make prudent decisions. S&W’s clients are always in control of the decision-making process that can range from the early investigation and settlement of a dispute before a lawsuit is filed to the litigation of a dispute through a jury trial and an appeal.
